Program Description

Event Details

In keeping with our months-long visiting art exhibit celebrating the history of African-American illustrators in children's literature, the Youth Services Department is proud to honor one of today's most beloved artists in contemporary children's literature - Christian Robinson. Robinson has illustrated many of today's most well-loved children's picture books, including Gaston, School's First Day of School, Last Stop on Market Street, and, most recently, The Bench, a collaboration with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

Children and their grown ups are invited to paint and help illustrate a large mural representing the world of Christian Robinson. When complete, the mural will be displayed in the Youth Services department.

If you need any help registering, please send us an email at children@cslibrary.org or call us at 630-344-6127.

Please be aware programs are subject to change subject to health restrictions in the community. We will update you if anything changes. Masks are encouraged for all registrants over the age of 2 and their caregivers.
