For this month, we will be discussing Alan Gratz's historical fiction, The Brooklyn Nine: A Novel in Nine Innings.

It is the story of the Schneider family, who, through a number of generations, share three things in common, Brooklyn, a love for baseball, and a strong family bond. Although we see the birth and growth of the national pastime, baseball is just the backdrop to larger world events that impact each of the generations: poverty, discrimination, war, and so on.

A free copy of the book is available for those who register, while supplies last.
