Event Details

Carol Stream Public Library is partnering with the University of Illinois for the Young Researchers Project. If you're a middle school or high school student, this is your chance to be part of a university study and gain experience on how a research process works. In this introductory meeting, library staff will be giving general information on how the YRP will be conducted and how teens can sing up.

Not only will teens be allowed to participate in this research study but they will have the option of being coresearchers and/or coauthors for the study. Teen recruits do not need to be Carol Stream residents or Carol Stream Public Library cardholders but will need to be available for meeting in the library once every few months, during the 2021-2022 school year. It is projected that the Young Researchers Project will run into next summer 2022, as we will schedule future meeting times once teens have gone through the recruitment process. Participants will still be able to join and receive credit if they cannot commit to every meeting and session throughout the project.
