Event Details

More Than a Month is a year-long series of events designed to help us learn how to recognize issues of systemic oppression and find opportunities to grow into a more equitable and inclusive community. The first year of this series will focus on Black history and experiences in American society  This month, we are proud to be partnering with the local group Universal Pizza and Social Justice in a discussion of the TED Talk: "The lie that invented racism."

This TED Talk is a presentation that helps viewers understand and eradicate racist thinking, starting at the beginning of where this thinking originated. Journalist and documentarian John Biewen's insight includes a trove of surprising and thought-provoking information on the "origins" of race, and lays out an exemplary path for practicing effective allyship.
