Program Description

Event Details

The world’s first Science Fiction novel, Frankenstein, was written by a nineteen-year-old named Mary Shelley.  The story of how she came to write such a novel reveals the painful struggle of a brilliant and rebellious mind.  Born of two idealistic parents, Mary turned her back on 19th century English Social norms to have a relationship with romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Nationally touring actress and award-winning Storyteller, Megan Wells appears as Mary in beautiful Regency attire.  In a conversational style, Megan Wells improvises with the audience as if Mary is actually alive in the room.  Come and be enchanted by writer and actress Megan Wells, as she tells Mary Shelley’s true story of that famous “dark and stormy night.”
