The October meeting of the DuPage Organic Garden Club will be held on September 30.

Helping the Two Rarest Insects of DuPage County: Dragonflies and Bumble Bees

Andres Ortega, Ecologist with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, will provide an overview of the two rarest insects in DuPage County, the Hine’s emerald dragonfly and the rusty patched bumble bee.  We’ll learn of their life history, the challenges they face, and what you can do to help these special insects thrive.

Since 1971, this club has been teaching members about building soil quality and taking care of garden pests naturally. A well-run ecological garden attracts birds and beneficial insects that help keep pests to a minimum and pollinate the plants. The programs are hosted by the DuPage Organic Garden Club and the Carol Stream Public Library.

When you register for this event, we will email you a link to a Zoom meeting. Participants must have a phone, tablet or laptop in order to participate. If you need any help, please send us an email at cstream@cslibrary.org or call us at 630-344-6123.
